1994 Ducati 888

1994 Ducati 888 showing 29,650 km and is in stunning overall condition and would be a wonderful addition to any collection of rare sports bikes.

Following on from the legendary 851, the 888’s finest hour was in 1991, when American rider Doug Polen took 17 victories in the 26 races of the season to be crowned Superbike World Champion - a title he would retain with the 888 the following year.

This Ducati 888 Strada is one of only 1500 made and an excellent example of one of the most iconic superbikes in the marque’s history, which presents in highly original condition. Its engine is a 100hp 888cc L-twin Desmodromic four-stroke, coupled to a six-speed transmission.

Never crashed or dropped this bike has been so well cared for its the cleanest 888 we have had by far.

The paint is stunning with no visible scratches or chips but there is one very small dent in the tank thats hard to see but I have added a photo.

It's got Termignoni high pipes and carbon rear hugger and front guard.

The photos really do the talking on this bike, it runs and rides as good as it looks.

Comes fully serviced with new timing belts.

1997 Ducati 748SPS

1997 Ducati 748SP with a genuine low 10,179 km is one of only 305 produced in 1997.

Super original unmolested survivor.

The higher-spec powerplant in the 748SP used Pankel connecting rods, higher spec camshafts and higher compression than the standard 748.

Other differences that set the SP apart was they were all yellow Monoposto's with aluminium subframe and white number plate on the solo seat.

Other performance upgrades were full floating cast iron disc brakes and Ohlins rear shock.

This example is fitted with a nice set of Termi mufflers and sounds awesome see video.

We just put new Bridgestone tyres on her, new chain sliders, new battery and its had a complete service including valves, timing belts and all fluids.

Being such a low milage example it has sat for most of its life and there is some fuel stains on the rear head and back of the engine but its only minor.

Comes with tool kit and owners manual and 2 keys.

Its just a beautiful looking bike and would be a solid investment.

Priced at what others are asking for a stock 748S with more miles.

1995 Ducati 916 Monoposto Varese

1995 Ducati 916 Monoposto Varese

Already one of the more rare and iconic Ducati motorcycles, this bike is one of the 2,663 916’s to be hand built in the Varese factory due to a fire at the assembly line in Bologna. The 916 led Ducati to 4 World Superbike Championship victories in ’94, ’95, ’96 and ’98.

There is an interesting wrinkle to the 916 story, and one that makes this bike even more special. In 1994 Ducati was ramping production of the 916 to meet with unprecedented demand (most 1995 bikes were build in the latter part of 1994) – the rumor is that every first-year 916 in the US was spoken for before it ever left Italy.

The factory in Bologna was running at full song. But a tragic fire (which started in the paint shop) shut down the production line at an inopportune time. Scrambling to continue building the most important motorcycle in Ducati’s history, manufacturing was relocated to the Cagiva-owned MV Agusta factory in the city of Varese. Here, approximately 2,663 Ducati 916s were assembled (predominantly by hand) to keep the dream alive.

The Varese built bikes were said to have several upgrades like Pankl conrods, the programmable P8 ECU from the earlier SP5 race bike and an assortment of other items not fitted to the Bologna bikes, most of which had the Cagiva logo stamping like the fuel cap and windccreen for example.

This particular bike was sold new in Japan and is serial number 1904, shows an original 13,677 km, its in very nice condition overall and is optioned with full Termi exhaust system.

We will have it fully serviced when it arrives including new belts and all fluids plus new Bridgestone tyres.

Comes with 916 owners manual and world dealer guide also has its original tool kit.

Definitely a rare and collectible bike.

1996 Suzuki GSXR750 SRAD

1996 Suzuki GSXR750 SRAD with 48,248 miles but just had a complete top end rebuild and partial restoration.

Suzuki heavily revamped this model with a host of features – many of which were derived from the firm’s factory race bikes.

Starting with the frame, the engineers in Hamamatsu abandoned the aluminum double-cradle chassis for the first time since the introduction of the Gixxer, bestowing the 1996 version with a new twin-spar structure based on the RGV GP racer of the day. The new frame was paired with updated fully-adjustable suspension comprised of 43mm inverted Showa forks up front and a monoshock out back. Slowing the 750 was a set of six-piston Tokico calipers chomping down on 320mm discs.

The new engine featured a side cam chain, SCEM (Silicon Carbide Electro-Plate) cylinder, and the model’s namesake SRAD (Suzuki Ram Air Direct) induction system. The most compact and lightweight inline-four in its class, the redesigned engine was able to shirk a good deal of weight via the use of new magnesium cylinder head, starter motor, and clutch covers. On top of the new engine and frame, the ’96 GSX-R also got all-new wind-tunnel-developed bodywork inspired by Kevin Schwantz’s RG500 GP mount. While its improved 130.2hp output, revised chassis, and sleek new appearance were definitely of note, the biggest highlight of the updated model was undoubtedly its weight; a svelte 453 lbs fully fueled and ready-to-go.

This particular bike is owned by one of our mechanics and is in excellent condition although slightly custom, paint is all original with just a couple of chips see photos.

Frame has been polished and is has a near new Micron exhaust system.

Has a rear tail delete kit, wheels are freshly powder coated and new Metzeller tyres.

Just had a complete service including flushing all the fuel system, all the carbs have been cleaned and vacuum synced.

One of the best paint schemes for 96.

The bike starts runs and rides excellent.

1983 Suzuki NX85 Turbo

Ultra rare 1983 Suzuki XN85 Turbo with a low 14,729 miles, very original bike.

The real trick with the XN85 was not so much the engine, but the chassis. The main frame was a round-tube double-cradle affair, with a triangulated backbone running to the steering head. Up front was a 37mm Kayaba fork, with anti-dive and air-adjustability, providing 5.5 inches of travel. Rake was a conservative 27 degrees, with trail of 3.9 inches. The fork connected to a 16-inch front wheel – which surprised many. Sixteen inches?! That was racing stuff. But even with a pretty lengthy 58.7 inches between axles, the bike handled extremely well. Probably helped along by the Full-Floater rear suspension, using an aluminum swingarm with caged needle bearings, the single Kayaba shock having remote hydraulic preload adjustment. And 4.1 inches of travel.

There were not many Turbo bikes made back in the 80s and this was one of the better ones.

We have had the tank and seat cowl professionally repainted but the headlight fairing and front guard are still original paint with some chips and scratches see photos.

Tyres are old and will need replacing.

It starts and runs nice and has no mechanical issues.

1959 Rikuo/Harley Davidson 750 RT2 Flathead

1959 Rikou/Harley Davidson 750 RT2 Flathead showing 24,653 km and built with Harley Davidson tooling.

It all started in the early 1930's, when the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, like everyone else, was mired in the Great Depression. By 1932, in fact, the Milwaukee factory was running at about 10 percent capacity, and sales were below 4,000 units a year.

One bright spot had been exports, but in Japan, Harley sales were also plummeting, because of an unfavourable exchange rate.

Enter Alfred Rich Child, an independent business agent authorized to represent Harley-Davidson in Japan.

Child figured he could reduce the retail price of a Harley to a Japanese customer if the machines were built in-country. He convinced the home office to sell Harley machine tools and licensing rights to the Japanese Sankyo Seiyako Corporation, which would build Harleys in Japan.  In dire straits, Harley agreed to the deal, and a new, Japanese-built model appeared under the “Rikuo” name. Roughly translated, Rikuo means “King of Road.”

The deal continued for several years, until Harley-Davidson produced the EL 61 OHV Knucklehead in 1936. Child couldn’t convince Sankyo to buy the licensing rights for the new machine. That disagreement, coupled with the rise of a militaristic government in Japan, put an end to Child’s, and Harley’s, relationship with the Japanese Rikuo company.

Despite that split, Rikuos continued to be built in the Japanese factory. In fact, military versions of the Rikuo were built for the Japanese army during World War II. When civilian production resumed following the war, the motorcycle was limited largely to police and courier use.

As late as the 1950s, though, as many as 2,000 Rikuos were built each year.

This example is one of the last 750's to be built and was the deluxe model with the larger seat and leather saddle bags and unlike the WLA these had 4 speed transmissions.

We just rebuilt the top end and it starts and runs but the clutch and brakes need attention and we don't have time to finish so selling as a complete running bike that hasn't been road tested.

A great piece of Harley Davidson history.
